Today was a sad day for fashion

Today we lost a genius of couture Alexander McQeen. He was one of the reason I became a fashionista; his work was pure genius, out of this world, amazing, words cannot describe how talented he was. The first time I saw his runway show I instantly fell in love with his work, and I knew he was going to be my all time favorite designer. He never ceased to shock and blow everyone’s mind with his creation. He gave us new ways to experience runway shows and use everything he got to make it happen. I am thankful that I was part of this generation to witness a genius of fashion.

Movie of the Day…Hedwig and the Angry Inch.. If you haven’t seen it.. do it!

Since I had time on my hands, I had the great opportunity to add NEW bands to my collection.

First up something soft but with a punch, if you listen to the lyrics.. The XX. Check out Crystalised (and yes that’s how they spelled it) I just love this song; just ask my Itunes top 25 most played.

Fruit Bats – When U Love somebody. Aaaaw this song just puts a smile on my face

The Weepies- Nobody Knows me at all. I just found this song by accident and I love it.

Miike Snow- Plastic Jungle… Well I got kinda got disappointed because out of all 11 songs from him I only like 4 songs =/ and plastic jungle is just groovy. But to end in a better note with music, Dragonette, Florence + The Machine, La Roux and The Raveonettes are taking over my life right now. They have that sound that I need to get by. So if you’re the type of person that needs to listen to music that reflects what you are feeling; give these artist a try and they will make it work.

Movie Time! Well I’ve been going to the movies a lot these couple of days…. Hehehe I just love them! Movies to watch: Broken Embraces (Los abrazos rotos) By Perdo Almondovar. If you like his previous work then you will enjoy this movie. The Young Victoria is amazing, most of us know that these epic movies always have sad or depressing endings but this will please you. The costumes and art are just great. Avatar hmmm the visual effects are like candy for your eyes; even though a lot of people say the story line is not so original. I was ok with it. Sitting in the movies for 2hrs and 50min was not bad for this movie because you don’t feel them. lol true story, I saw the midnight show with my bad habit Alex.

A little bit of laughter, a little bit of sorrow and a pinch of happiness is what I feel like this very moment as I start my new year listening to The Killers “Smile like you mean it” New years are always fun because for many people it’s the chance to start fresh, new, like a baby and forget about what happed the year before and look for new, friends, opportunities, adventures and maybe help mend a broken heart or find that someone in their life. Most of us wish we can be born again and redo our lives but we know that, that is impossible. Because if you didn’t took that wrong turn and crashed or if you didn’t ended that relationship you wouldn’t have been this person you are now. All these hiccups that you’ve come across are noting, for there are those who have lost sight, a voice to be heard or lost it all to the darkness and have fallen beyond any help. So Smile Like You Mean it!!!!
